Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are also known as caps and are complete coverings for teeth that are made of a variety of differing materials depending on the situation. In order to make room for the crown and to allow it to slide over the tooth, some of the existing tooth structure must be removed. This procedure is called the crown preparation.

These are the same teeth with temporary crowns(14K jpeg) After the teeth are prepared temporary plastic crowns are made immediately and placed on the teeth to restore esthetics and prevent tooth sensitivity.

Impression (14K jpeg).A mold of the prepared teeth is made in the mouth. This mold is called an "impression".
